Food Stop: Chic Boy (Chicken at Baboy)
Location: Walter Mart, Makiling, Laguna
Chic Boy is a barbeque grill franchise. I guess Chic Boy originated from Cebu because their menu boasts their specialty lechon manok cebu and lechon baboy cebu. The establishments name came from a pun between the words "Chicken and Baboy". This particular branch/franchise is located on the ground floor of Walter Mart Makiling. It's near the main entrance so you would surely spot the place or you may just follow your nose.

Me and my Food Trip friends went there around eight in the evening (8 PM). We were really hungry as it is way past our normal dinner time. This is the kind of restaurant where you line up at the counter and place your order there. To tell you honestly we were a bit shocked at the prices of the meals there. A decent meal with unlimited rice starts from 100 Pesos. We were all from Davao City and the prices really does differ. Some places similar to Chic Boy charge as low as 50 Pesos for a similar meal. Ill be posting some of this places soon when I return to Davao this April 2012. I ordered Inihaw na Liempo while most of my friends ordered the cebu lechon manok. The reason they ordered the cebu lechon manok is because the serving looked large. A very logical decision indeed.
We waited for all of our meals to be served and then we started to attack err.. eat the food. I was very happy with my Inihaw na Liempo because the slice was very large while some of my friends felt deceived by the image of the lechon manok on the menu. The serving of the lechon manok was very small. I traded a piece of my liempo for a piece of pork barbeque and boy did I regret not ordering the pork BBQ instead. I would recommend their pork barbeque because it really tasted good. My meal was not bad but it lacked seasoning so it tasted somewhat bland. I also traded a piece of my meal for a lechon manok and it tasted like a regular lechon manok. I really didnt notice what Cebu did to the lechon manok to make it taste different. It also didnt take long to ask for another cup of rice. We were all very full and content with the food. As a group, Our average cup of rice consumed there would be at 4 to 5. As for me I have eaten 5 cups thanks to the generous serving of my viand. The place was not bad. In fact I would like to visit other Chic Boy brances/franchises.

Some of the serving was large (Liempo and BBQ) but the lechon manok was really small. The Inihaw na Liempo was a bit bland and their Cebu lechon manok does not differ from other lechon manok I tasted. Their pork barbeque was great and I would like to try more of it next time.
Service : 6
The service was good but the food really took a long time to arrive at our table. Imagine waiting around 45-50 minutes for the food. The manager/supervisor of the Chic Boy was really attentive as she was trying her best to make up for the delay. If not for the manager/supervisor we would be really be disappointed of the service.
Price : 6
Our complete meal including the drinks ranged from 120 to 150 per meal. Basing on the prices here in Luzon, their prices would be reasonable but it is still a bit pricey.
Ambiance : 6
The setting was similar to any fast food chain. The space was not that open too. I would appreciate if they would put something unique in their overall theme just to add up to the eating experience.
