Back when I was in College I have a challenge to myself. The challenge was I have to eat at 500 different food stops in Davao before I die. As long as a certain place serves food or drinks, it may be counted. The problem was I lost count already because I dont have any written list. I just memorized the places I have already eaten at.
I would like to revive that challenge but I'll level it up. I would challenge myself to eat at 1000 different food stops around the Philippines before I die. I hope you would follow and support me in this challenge.
The Rules:
1) Any place may do as long as they serve food or drinks
2) I must actually eat at the place (No Takeouts!)
3) One Place = 1 Count
4) I have to comment on the place's services, food taste, ambiance and the PRICE.
Food Stop: Ippon Yari
Location: FPIP, Sto. Tomas, Batangas
Ippon Yari is a Japanese Restaurant located inside an Industrial Park. Most of it's customers are Japanese people (Nihonjin) who works inside the park. You could see various kinds of Japanese there from company presidents to factory workers. This was not my first time to eat at a Japanese Restaurant because I have already eaten at a japanese restaurant in Makati with our company president (Shachou).

We went there past lunch time to celebrate a simple Christmas party prepared for Davaoeno employees of Arktech Philippines and Davaoeno OJTs from MKD. The ambiance was simple but nice and the decors reflect the Japanese culture. We went to a private room reserved for us. We settled ourselves and started introducting ourselves (jikoshoukai) to the OJTs and vice versa. They just arrived from Davao and they went directly to Ippon Yari. We started ordering our meals but unfortunately some of the dishes were unavailable. You could identify the available meals because they would hang a piece of wood with the meal details inside the room. Whenever a certain meal is unavailable they would go to the room and remove the wood from the list. We ended up with different dishes such as beef patty dish, beef curry, grilled fish meal. We also ordered various kinds of sushi and sashimi. The table was really full of food. It was time to eat and taste the food. The serving was generous. My beef patty was so big it almost consumed half of my plate. There are 4 sushi in each serving served with red ginger and wasabe. The sashimi serving includes raw tuna, raw salmon, raw squid and wasabe. The food was great. The patty was tender and juicy and the sauce blended with it well. I was glad I didnt ordered the fish because it was so difficult to eat because of its small bone. My mashed potato (Side Dish) was very well made. The sashimi was fresh but the wasabe was not spicy. The sushi was well prepared because it does not cramble when picked up. My personal favorite was the California Maki Roll. All in all the dish was good and the experience was great. I can't wait to try other Japanese dishes.
My Rating
Food/Drinks : 7
The food was good and the serving was generous but it did not made me crave for more.
Service : 8
I could not deny that their service was one of their forte. You don't have to wait forever just to be served and this is due to the fact that the place has a plenty of waitresses. Not to mention that their waitresses are kind and they would really take time to talk to you.
Price : 5
Our meal ranged from 400 to 500 per meal making it hard for our wallet. Luckily we didn't have to pay for the meal. Everyone could not afford a meal with that price so it would be a factor why I only gave them 5.
Ambiance : 7
The place was simple and the layout was spacious. There was a sense of privacy even if you would sit on the common area due to the fact that tables are properly placed from each other. I did not feel uncomfortable and staying there was relaxing.
