How far are we from home? Let's say its just 890.26 kilometers (km) away from Home. For many of us this would be their first time spending Christmas away from their family and loved ones but this does not make our Christmas sad or lonely. We made sure our Christmas here would be memorable and fun. We prepared a lot of food (Depends on how you define a lot though) and we also planned to have a Kris Kringle.
Pre - Christmas Preparation and Food Trip
We all have our share in preparing our food for Christmas Eve. I helped make the Mango Float together with John, Rose and Athina while Leo and Kareen is incharge of the Macaroni Salad. Jethro was the one who cooked the barbeque but I helped him by making the barbeque sauce (My Special Sauce). Rosemie and Leo pre-cooked the Chicken Drumsticks while John cooked the overly sweet spaghetti. Gene (Ms. Pikot) cooked the pancit canton while Yanyan and Sharade (Please forgive me if the spelling is wrong) helped her. It's not yet Christmas but our tummy wants to eat therefore we need to eat some of our food for Chrismas Eve. We ate till we are full forgetting we would eat later on Christmas Eve.
Christmas At Last!
I think it took us 5 minutes or so before realizing it was already Christmas. We greeted each other and greeted Jesus for His Birthday. We started exchanging gifts and it was fun as we enjoyed each moment. We all got our gifts and of course we would not forget our special guests (OJT From MKD) as they too would eventually receive their special gift from Santa Jethro. We ate again as if we have not eaten just hours before. Attacking err eating the Mango Float was first on my list and I guess it was first on their list too making it the "Food of the Night". We tried all of the food and we were all full. We chatted the night away and slept at around 3 AM.
Christmas at Hacienda Darasa
We planned to go to a pool during Christmas as our ever generous boss gave us a gift check for a free pool entrance at Hacienda Darasa. Although the GC could not cover us all but it was enough to motivate us to go there even if we have to spend a little. The place was peaceful and quiet. I think there were only two group of people there and that includes us. All of us but Gene went swimming even if the water was so cold. The pool was perfectly designed for me as it is impossible for me to drown there. I think the deepest part there is only 5 feet. We played a lot of games most of it was "made-up" by Jethro. The most fun game we played in the pool was the "Penyo Henyo" game as we laughed a lot while playing the Game.
Here are some funny moments during the game.
Word: Mountain Dew (The Yellow Drink! Hohoho!)
Leo: Nakikita sa kusina?
Others: Pwede.
Leo: Plastic?
Others: Oo - Pwede
Leo: Kaldero!
That was a great example of an Epic Fail. The only plastic Kaldero I know is the one children use when playing bahay-bahayan.
